Located very close to the church of Metamorphosis are the ruins of a church dedicated to Saints Zinaida and Filonilli and which was destroyed by an earthquake. The saints were relatives of Apostle Paul, whom, according to sources cited by Vakis, “they escorted from Tarsos to Pafos”.
Tradition and other written testimonies mention that next to the chapel there used to be a holy well to which loyal women would go to be cured by diseases that struck women. Additionally, as Vakis adds, another tradition mentions that the “young unmarried women of the village would wash themselves with water from the holy well so that the two saints would help them choose or find a husband”.
